Security
Data minimization, not accounting access.
WatzContacts exists to solve one problem: recognizing customers when they call. It is designed to process only the QuickBooks Online customer contact data required for that, not your accounting data.
Scope
Contact sync, not accounting access.
WatzContacts is a customer contact synchronization tool, not an accounting or bookkeeping product. It has no reason to read invoices, payments, balances, or other financial records, and it is being built not to.
Designed to use
- Customer or company name
- Contact person name, where applicable
- Customer phone numbers
Not used
- Invoices, estimates, and payments
- Balances and bookkeeping records
- Bank and financial account details
Exact QuickBooks Online OAuth permissions are still being finalized alongside the integration. We describe the intended data scope conceptually here and will publish exact technical detail before general availability, so this description does not overstate what is already built.
Account & access
Only your own customers.
-
Each business is designed to have access only to its own QuickBooks Online customer contacts, never another company's data.
-
Connecting QuickBooks Online is designed to use QuickBooks Online's own authorization flow, so WatzContacts does not ask for or store your QuickBooks password.
-
Synced contacts live locally on your phone as native contacts, the same as any other phone contact.
-
Exact authentication and account setup steps for the US launch will be published once the QuickBooks Online integration is finalized.
Launch notification signup
Protecting the "notify me" list.
- Server-side email validation before anything is stored
- A hidden honeypot field to catch automated submissions
- Basic rate limiting per network to reduce abuse
- Duplicate email addresses are not stored twice
Email addresses collected through the launch notification form are used only to send a one-time launch announcement. See our privacy policy for details.
