Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about WatzContacts and QuickBooks Online.

Answers about syncing QuickBooks Online customer contacts to iPhone and Android, Caller ID, data scope, and the US launch timeline.

QuickBooks Online & phone sync

How do I sync QuickBooks contacts to my iPhone?

WatzContacts is designed to connect to your QuickBooks Online account and automatically sync your customer contacts into your iPhone's native Contacts app. This QuickBooks Online integration is coming soon and is not yet available.

How do I sync QuickBooks contacts to Android?

The same planned sync applies to Android: WatzContacts is designed to sync your QuickBooks Online customer contacts into your Android phone's native contacts, so they're available for Caller ID and calling. This integration is coming soon.

Can QuickBooks customer contacts appear in my phone contacts?

Yes, that's the goal of WatzContacts: to sync relevant QuickBooks Online customer names and phone numbers into your phone's existing native contacts, on both iPhone and Android.

Can my phone identify QuickBooks customers when they call?

Once a customer's contact has been synced to your phone through WatzContacts, your phone's native Caller ID can show their name on an incoming call, the same way it would for any saved contact.

Does QuickBooks sync customers with iPhone contacts on its own?

QuickBooks Online lets you manually add an individual customer to your device contacts, but it does not automatically sync your full customer list to your phone. WatzContacts is being built to provide that automatic sync.

Can I automatically sync QuickBooks customers to my phone?

That's what WatzContacts is designed to do: automatically sync your QuickBooks Online customer contacts to your phone, instead of adding them one at a time. This feature is coming soon.

Product

What is WatzContacts?

WatzContacts is designed to sync QuickBooks Online customer names and phone numbers automatically into your phone's native iPhone or Android contacts, so incoming calls from customers are identified by name.

Is WatzContacts a CRM?

No. WatzContacts is not a customer relationship management tool. It is designed to sync names and phone numbers from QuickBooks Online into your phone's native contacts, nothing more.

Does WatzContacts create a separate address book?

No. WatzContacts syncs into your phone's existing native contacts app. It does not maintain a separate, proprietary address book.

Will I be able to call a recognized customer back easily?

Yes. Because the phone number is stored in your phone's native contacts, you'll be able to call the contact directly, without opening QuickBooks or searching for their number.

Unknown callers & Caller ID

Does WatzContacts block spam calls?

No. WatzContacts does not detect or block spam calls or robocalls. It only helps identify callers whose contact information exists in your connected QuickBooks customer data and has been synced to your phone.

Will every unknown number be identified?

No. WatzContacts can only identify a caller if that person is stored as a customer in your connected QuickBooks Online account and their contact has been synced to your phone.

Will missed calls from customers also show a name?

Because synced contacts live in your phone's native contacts, your call history is designed to show the customer's name for missed calls too, not just an unfamiliar number.

Data

What QuickBooks data does WatzContacts use?

WatzContacts is designed to use only customer contact information needed for Caller ID, such as customer or company name and phone numbers, not accounting data like invoices, payments, or balances. Exact QuickBooks Online permissions are still being finalized.

Will WatzContacts access my QuickBooks accounting data?

No. WatzContacts is built for customer contact synchronization, not accounting access. It has no reason to read invoices, balances, or other bookkeeping records, and it is being designed not to.

Will other companies' customers ever be synced to my phone?

No. Each business is designed to have access only to its own QuickBooks Online customer contacts.

What happens to a synced contact if I remove a customer's phone number in QuickBooks?

WatzContacts is designed to remove the corresponding synced contact from your phone on the next sync once it's no longer supposed to be synced.
